My book was written for readers who would like to understand how the Bible’s authors wrote their fascinating stories as human and political responses to their personal experience. My aim is to portray their work as the epic historical tragedy they clearly intended to convey.

These authors lived circa 800-400 BCE and wrote a remarkably true-to-life material account of the period. They also wrote a mythic history from creation, which they date to c 5700 BCE, conveying their metaphysical understanding of how their world and nation came to be.
